THE HISTORY OF OUR CAR GARAGE – A HUMAN APPROACH
We’re happy to share a little bit of our history with you. How has the current owner distinguished himself over the years? How did Autotech Performance acquire its reputation as an expert team that is both efficient and human?
DENIS CORDEIRO’S REMARKABLE START
It’s in 1975 that businessman Jules Tremblay opened a car mechanic garage at 4830 St-Charles Boulevard in Pierrefonds, in Montréal’s West Island.
Nineteen years later, in February 1994, Denis Cordeiro joined Mr. Tremblay’s business group that included four Mr. Muffler shops at that time. Then aged 22, Denis was named manager of the Duvernay franchise in Laval. It was at that moment that the two men established a close relationship that would let Denis demonstrate his skills while benefiting from Mr. Tremblay’s guiding hand.
In 1995, following his good results at the Duvernay shop, Denis Cordeiro was promoted to manager of the much busier Mr. Muffler franchise in Montréal’s East End. Two years later, in 1997, he became the general manager and shareholder of a group that operated four auto mechanic shops and that would eventually acquire a fifth one.
In 1998, Denis was elected Chair of the franchise committee that represented all Mr. Muffler’s franchisees before the franchisor.
ACQUIRING THE CURRENT GARAGE
In January 2003, Denis Cordeiro became the sole owner of the shop at 4830 St-Charles Boulevard. He registered his business under the Autotech Performance name and continued to operate it under the Mr. Muffler banner.
In 2008, with 18 years of experience in the auto mechanics business, Denis Cordeiro decided to dissociate himself from the Mr. Muffler banner and to operate under the Autotech Performance name as a car repair and preventive maintenance specialist in Montréal’s West Island.
In 2013, after consistently providing top quality services to its customers and meeting the automotive industry’s highest standards, Autotech Performance was awarded the CAA Quebec Certification. This certification must be reviewed annually and is based on the following criteria:
- Customer service excellence
- Garage cleanliness
- Employee qualifications and training
- Reputation in the community
- Service and repair quality
- Tool, equipment and facility compliance
- Waste and pollutant disposal according to environmental protection standards.
A TEAM OF COMPETENT AND DEDICATED EXPERTS
Thanks to its experienced, thoughtful and dynamic mechanics, Autotech Performance acquired a faithful customer base that grows yearly. Denis, Pierre and the entire team continue to put their expertise and energy to work for the motorists of Montréal’s West Island.
For Denis Cordeiro, this journey goes on just as it began: he still maintains a close relationship with his friend and mentor Jules Tremblay, and he continues to work to ensure Autotech Performance’s growth and success!
